The goal of my speaking is to speak about the topics that most people won’t even write about in a setting that will encourage, explore their hearts, and empower them to live in a new awareness of Christ’s presence through their lives. You can’t lead where you haven’t been, and many of my topics are not romantic, sweet, stories of someone else’s mistakes. They are mine. All of them. The thing is, God’s grace isn’t just a concept, its real. The roads God has journeyed with me have been more than the one down the aisle on Sunday mornings. My life and the life of my family have been affected by “unspoken” parts of my life. It’s time as a Christian community that we truly deal with more than stories about the woman at the well, but embrace every part of who we are as broken, imperfect people…and those in front of us who are hurting as we are.
My keynote address is “Why Shooting the Walking Wounded isn’t Christian” a serious yet humorous look at how in the effort to be “Christian” we exclude those who most need our Christian love and affirmation of being a “part” of the life of fellowship. During the keynote we’ll cover topics including:
- “I’m fine, how are you?”- or Let’s not talk about it
- “It’s really them, not us..” –or the Messy Parts of Belonging
- “The Joneses Live Here”- Helping Take Competition Out of Fellowship
- “Holy Holy Holy” –The Three Topics We’d Rather Ignore than Talk about…and hum Holy Holy Holy instead
Currently I also offer 2 hour workshops for ministry leadership teams on the topics of:
- He/She did What????- How to deal with a very private matter when its in your church publically
- Sex May Begin in the Kitchen, but it was online 24/7- Dealing with the topic of Addiction to Porn (available as a high school mens only program as well as for adult mens groups)
- Special Needs Populations in the Church- Workshops to help with awareness and programming for special needs populations.
Keynote Fees are $150.00 plus travel and/or lodging when appropriate. Workshops are $75.00 per hour or a combined fee of $20 per participant, sponsoring church receives $7 per ticket sold to support ministry, building fees, etc. (minimum of 10 participants)
